THE YEAR OF THE MONKEY

On 8 February 2016, the Chinese year of the Monkey began.

The Monkey is said to be one of the cleverest and most successful of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. They have limitless talent and ability, are confident, and are not afraid of hard work. It is easy for people to be drawn to them due to their liveliness.

They can be good at languages and are not afraid to travel, comfortable fitting into new surroundings.

On the downside, their supreme self-confidence can leave them feeling superior to others and full of their own importance. They can ignore criticism, and they will not feel obliged to show truthfulness in dealing with those they see as their lessers.

The Monkey will get on with most other animals. The main two exceptions are the wise and calculating Snake and the Tiger, whose own charisma and charm will probably provoke ridicule from the Monkey.

Famous Monkeys include:

Charles Dickens, Eleanor Roosevelt, Leonardo da Vinci, Gaugin, and Kylie Minogue.
