Research: Acupuncture and Bio- Electric Magnetism

In recent years, considerable research has been conducted to investigate, in Western scientific terms, the mechanisms through which acupuncture works. One of the most interesting approaches has looked at the electromagnetic fields of the human body. Numerous studies have found that the Chinese system of channels running through the body correlate with locations of lowered electrical resistance, where it would be supposed, the energy would be more malleable.

The organ in the body with, by far, the most powerful electo magnetic field is the Heart. It pervades all physiological and emotional faculties in the body. It even extends into the space outside the body and thus can be understood to resonate with other people and our surroundings. This field is present in us from day 22 of foetal development. It has been postulated that this EM field is the most readily influenced by acupuncture.
