Greenwich Acupuncture Clinic Safety Measures Currently in Place

The Greenwich acupuncture clinic safety measures have been in place since re-opening in July. Following the worsening of the pandemic and the subsequent announcement of a third lockdown back in January, further steps have been taken. These are designed with the safety of patients, practitioners, and all members of the public in mind. Acupuncture treatment is currently only available for those requiring urgent care or with high needs. Accordingly, clinic hours have been reduced so that only those who need treatment are accommodated. The other London Acupuncture Therapy locations in Camberwell, Battersea, and Highgate are closed for the time being, but the Greenwich clinic will remain open.

Current Greenwich acupuncture clinic safety measures
The Greenwich acupuncture clinic safety measures cover a wide range of practices & procedures

The Greenwich acupuncture clinic safety measures are based upon all the information received from the government and the regulatory body, the British Acupuncture Council

accredited register scheme run by the Professional Standards Authority. As such, they may be reviewed as further information comes to light and guidelines are issued.

The main points of the Greenwich acupuncture clinic safety measures are:

The practitioner wears a fluid-resistant type IIR surgical mask, a visor, and disposable apron

Patients are required to wear a surgical mask (which can be provided for free)

Temperature checks are carried out at the clinic entrance

A minimum fifteen minute gap in the treatment room to allow for ventilation between each patient

No provision of towels, so patients must now bring their own

Initial consultations are carried out online to minimise contact time

Patients are asked to bring their own pen to sign the consent form

Acupuncture needling allowed on head but not on face

Practitioner brings a change of clothes to wear separate from those he wore to travel to the clinic

Hand sanitiser is provided at multiple locations in the clinic

Social distancing markings are on the floor in the reception and hallway

The toilets are not available for patient use (except in emergency and only after checking with the practitioner)

Appointment times are co-ordinated so that patients do not need to wait in the reception area and can go straight to the treatment room

Patients are asked to not arrive early for their appointments

All patients are asked to read a covid-19 safety declaration beforehand to ensure they are fully aware of the circumstances under which they should not come to the clinic premises

The health and safety of patients and practitioners remains are primary concern at the Greenwich Natural Health Centre. If you have any questions regarding this, please do ask for further details.
