CHARITY CONCERT

A few words about a charity concert taking place in south London on Saturday 14th November…
Did you know that giving to charity not only makes us happier, but can help lower our blood pressure, too? Well, here is a way to end your week by improving your health:
I am organising a fundraiser to help stop the extinction of elephants from this planet – and you are all invited! ALL profits will be donated to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
See the flyer below for all the info or contact me to answer any questions.
Get your tickets directly from myself or buy them online at cometotrunk.eventbrite
If you can’t make the event, we ask you to make a massive difference to life on this planet by donating on our just giving page here.
Here is why…
  • Elephants will be extinct by 2025 if the current trend continues – and in 5 years we may have lost the opportunity to save this magnificent species.
  • Between 2006 and 2013, the African elephant population has decreased from 550,000 to 470,000 and the number continues to drop – one is killed every 15 minutes!
  • Humans are their largest threat – aside from deforestation and human population pressures and conflict, it is poaching and the ivory trade that is killing them.
  • Baby elephants are left orphaned and unable to fend for themselves because their parents are brutally killed for their tusks.
  • Whilst the root causes also need to be tackled, these little survivors need rescuing and protecting so they can grow strong and live on.
  • The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Orphans Project has successfully rescued and hand-raised over 150 infant elephants and effectively reintegrated them back into the wild.
  • If you don’t want to have to explain to your children how we let the last of these animals die, now is the time to do something!
How TRUNK came about…
My partner and I visited the DSWT elephant orphanage in Kenya a couple of years ago – an experience which left us deeply moved and inspired. At the end of last year, seemingly unrelated, we set up a local community choir, The Hidden Voices. We felt the choir should have a meaningful purpose (besides finding our voices). And so we decided to ‘sing for elephants’. – It’s obvious, right ;)?
So, if you are free on Saturday 14th November and fancy an evening out in South East London, please support the cause by coming along to our TRUNK event – an evening of fun and entertainment with all profits going to the DSWT. You can laugh at my singing and make a difference in the world!
